Deep links

Every document has a short URL that opens it directly — useful for sharing in chat, email or task trackers.

What a deep link looks like

The format is `/d/<document-id>`. When you open it, Foliato signs you in if needed, resolves the organization and project, and takes you to the file.

Copy a deep link

  1. 1Right-click a document in the project.
  2. 2Select "Copy link".
  3. 3Paste it anywhere — the receiver will land directly on the file.

Permissions still apply

A deep link is not a magic share link. Whoever opens it still needs to be a member of the organization and have access to the file. If they don't, they see a "You don't have access" page.

💡 To share with someone outside the organization, invite them first or use the public-share feature (Pro and Business plans).
